Brazil become the first side to qualify for the World Cup

Liverpool, Man City target Dahoud looking at Dortmund apartments

Brazil became the first team to book their place at next year's World Cup as a dominant 3-0 win over Paraguay, coupled with Uruguay's defeat to Peru, earned their ticket to Russian Federation.

Brazil continue their stellar World Cup qualifying campaign with a 3-0 win over Paraguay.

Getting a point away to Brazil will keep Paraguay within striking distance of the fifth spot in South American qualifying, which would see them go through to the newly-formed Inter-confederation playoffs.

Paris Saint-Germain's Cavani struck from the spot against Brazil to save his country's blushes, but the Ligue 1 top scorer (27 goals) failed to find the target as the Celeste fell in Lima.

While Brazil have qualified with four games to spare, Argentina are in danger in missing out on automatic qualification.

Key to Brazil securing qualification with a routine win over Paraguay was Liverpool's Coutinho, whose return to form comes at a critical time for his club ahead of the resumption of the domestic season. It has become a team to fear again, as adversaries such as Uruguay's coach Oscar Tabarez acknowledged. "I will have a caipirinha [cocktail] this big", Tite said, spreading his hands.

'I think this is really important, to play with confidence.

Permit put forward for Keystone XL pipeline
To get the pipeline built, TransCanada will need to win financing, acquire local permits, and fend off likely legal challenges. The president also directed the State Department to determine within 60 days whether the pipeline is in the national interest.

Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho opened the scoring in the 35th minute after linking up with Paulinho, with Neymar doubling the lead just after the hour mark, making up for an earlier missed penalty before Marcelo sealed the win with a goal four minutes from time.

The 25-year-old star also admitted he had to mature after a series of controversies on and off the pitch and promised Brazil would be one of the favorites in the next World Cup in Russian Federation.

The win coupled with Uruguay's loss sends the Selecao' to Russian Federation with four games to spare.

Midfielder Paulinho pulled off a hat-trick and Neymar led Brazil to their seventh consecutive qualifying win.

Coach Tite, who has won seven straight games in qualifiers since he took over in September, had his best days at Corinthians.

Second-place Colombia has 24 points total from its 14 games.

In the second half, Brazil had the chance to make it 2-0 after a superb run by Neymar that ended in a controversial penalty. The Brazilians were playing Paraguay and Chile was against last-place Venezuela in later matches.

The disappointing performance in the 1-0 victory over Bolivia on Thursday is making Colombia fans worry that their team might not qualify for the World Cup.
