Roger Federer, Microsoft's Gates to play doubles for charity

Roger Federer of Switzerland serves to Rafael Nadal of Spain during the men’s singles final at the Miami Open tennis tournament Sunday

Roger Federer lifted his 91st career title at the Miami Open and immediately signalled his intention to take a break. But, his Spanish counterpart wouldn't be surprised to see him make further inroads.

"It's been a fabulous couple of weeks", said Federer after his victory before announcing he would take a almost two month break before the French Open in late May.

"Physically he's still got a couple more years in him which is incredible, he just plays so efficiently and fluently and doesn't seem to expend the energy of his opponents".

"I don't know if I am a candidate yet to win the French Open", he said.

Despite suffering a third defeat of the year to Federer, Nadal said he was ready to win titles again. Nadal, on the other hand, is expected to feature in the complete swing of his favourite surface clay. "I'm not 24 anymore so things have changed in a big way and I probably won't play any clay court event except the French", he said.

Before Federer began his break, he put in a plug for idyllic Key Biscayne, a premier tournament site for 31 years. "A lot of points, a lot of confidence for the most important part of the season for me that's just in two weeks".

"I have to pick my moments where I can peak and stay healthy", he said.

The parties alleged the that during the testing of VVPAT machines dispensed only the BJP slips, no matter what button you pressed. VVPAT is an independent verification system fitted to EVMs to allow voters to verify that their vote was cast correctly.

"I'm feeling motivated and I want to get out there more".

But with his victory in Miami, Federer will move to No. 4 in the world rankings from No. 6.

Federer beat Nadal in straight sets in the Miami final yesterday morning, his fourth straight win against his long-time rival.

"I think, I am close to what I need to be", he said.

The second set took an nearly identical path, albeit with fewer openings to break for both players until Federer again pounced, to grab a 5-4 lead when Nadal went long returning a fine backhand. "Physically and emotionally it has been a draining week, I think I did very well", he said. He has the best record on men's tour this year at 19-1, including 7-0 against players ranked in the top 10, and has won 11 matches in a row.

Federer even hedged slightly in committing to Roland Garros, the Grand Slam least suited to his graceful game because of the grinding it demands. That ties for the worst by any player at any tournament in the open era.

Federer said he's healthy and wants to stay that way after missing the final six months of 2016 because of a knee injury. He served well and held at love three times in a row.
