Alexis Sanchez Rumoured for Arsenal Stay, Potential Free Transfer to Chelsea

Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez has received a phone call from Jose Mourinho about the possibility of joining Manchester United this summer, according to reports.

Per the report, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also interested in the Chile worldwide, who has yet to sign a new contract.

Sanchez has been battling an ankle injury as poor form has seen Arsenal slip out of the Champions League qualification places and the forward conceded he finds it hard when he is not fit to play.

He feels the 2012 sale of Robin van Persie to Manchester United when he had one year left on his contract is a sign of what is likely to happen at the end of this season.

But Wenger says he is not sure why there has been a "debate" over Sanchez's next move when he is still under contract until 2018. "I would be shocked if Sanchez wasn't playing for Chelsea next season", the Sky Sports pundit told Newsweek.

If Arsenal chose to let him run down his contract next season, they would be taking a real gamble with him as they could lose him on a free transfer at the end of next season. "Sanchez is alone in his energy at Arsenal, but seeing other players at his level will help to push him and the club on".

South Africa's Zuma survives latest ouster attempt
Speaker Baleka Mbete has scheduled the debate for the motion for the 18th of April 2017 at 2.00pm. Similar bids have failed to muster the needed votes to oust Zuma in the past.

"I am happy in London and I hope to finish my contract at Arsenal", he confirmed (via Metro).

And Merson believes Wenger and the club have grown an arrogance over the past few seasons, in talk of transfers and the pursuit of then-Liverpool striker Luis Sanchez.

"He wears number seven at Arsenal".

Wenger was thrilled with Arsenal's performance in Wednesday's 3-0 victory over West Ham, which moved his side to within four points of Champions League qualification, with a game in hand.

Arsenal supporters have been rueing Wenger's inability to capture their main targets over recent years and their failure to go out and spend big like their title rivals due to their strict club policy.
