Are the Saints, Adrian Peterson closing in on a deal?

Javancy Jones of Jackson State University uses his speed to rush the quarterback from Tennessee State

It looks like former Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson may finally have found a new home, and in the Big Easy no less.

According to NFL.com and Ian Rapaport, AP is expected to sign a contract with the Saints that will pay him somewhere around $3.25 million in 2017, which is less than Ingram is due.

Tackle Jake Long, who played in four games past year for the Vikings before suffering a season-ending torn Achilles tendon, announced his retirement Monday on Twitter.

A fifth-round pick in 2013, Gillislee rushed for 577 yards and eight touchdowns on 101 carries last season as LeSean McCoy's backup in Buffalo.

The Vikings signed Long last October after they had lost tackles Matt Kalil and Andre Smith to season-ending injuries. He has 11,747 career yards and averages 4.9 yards per carry. But the Saints have three picks in the first two rounds of this week's draft, and five in the first three rounds.

The Patriots will likely have one of the best cornerback duos in the league next season.

Canada introduces legislation to legalize marijuana
On Thursday, the Canadian government under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau unveiled its plans to legalize recreational marijuana . Marijuana in Canada is mostly consumed by the young people and according to reports , 30% of Canadians aged 20-24 use cannabis.

What Peterson most likely sees is a head coach and a quarterback that have made it to the promised land and know what it takes to win.

History warns us to doubt eyebrow-raising news reports leaked in the days leading up to the draft.

The MMQB's Peter King also reported on Monday that the Saints are leaning toward keeping all of their current draft picks, one of which is the 32nd pick that they acquired from the Patriots for receiver Brandin Cooks.

While the Saints had the NFL's top ranked offense in terms of yards gained in 2016, they finished in the middle of the pack in terms of rushing yards.

Instead, Tampa Bay will probably spend a draft pick on a running back later this week.

The Vikings moved on from the 32-year-old running back this offseason, instead signing former Raider Latavius Murray. Ingram had his first 1,000-yard season on the ground and racked up a career-high 10 touchdowns for the Saints.
