Yesterday, New Zealand Rugby League took the bold step of axing two of their best from the upcoming World Cup.

Kevin Proctor has also stood down from his role as co-captain of the Titans.

Ahead of the announcement, Checkpoint with John Campbell talked to NRL commentator Ray Warren, who said he would have supported including the pair in the World Cup.

"I had to look at the integrity of the jersey, the values we're trying to build here and they broke that trust", Kidwell said.

He also said there would be a review of the team's rules whilst in camp for the World Cup - to be held across Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea - including a possible curfew.
