Showers and Storms Return Tonight and Tomorrow

The National Weather Service says there is increasing confidence that a nor’easter will develop this Mother’s Day weekend bring heavy rain and windy conditions

The rain will remain steady and heavy at times through Saturday morning and into the afternoon before tapering back to showers late in the day and at night.

TONIGHT: It looks to be still slightly humid for those south of the Missouri river where storms look to develop from 5PM-11PM tonight. Southeast winds 5-7. Showers likely tonight, 80% chance, low of 56. Tonight, expect mostly cloudy skies. Like past days a few very light spot showers are also possible each day, but the vast majority of New England cities and towns will stay dry all day, and even those that do see rain will only see it briefly. Showers Saturday morning, clearing in the afternoon, high of 67. We'll have a north wind this evening under 8 miles per hour with temperatures dipping to the mid 50s tonight. But the bad news is that heavier rains begin Friday night and could linger well into Saturday.

On Saturday, we'll likely see scattered showers and a couple of isolated thunderstorms as an area of low pressure moves over the region. Temperatures today will be 10 degrees cooler in the afternoon, right near average in the low 70s.
